By | 52 Weeks of Lettering, Productivity, Routine

It’s the end of a long day. You zombiewalk home, head empty, physically totally drained like after running a marathon, although you’ve been sitting on a chair all day long and you’re asking yourself, what you’ve done all day. You seem to have been answering hundreds of emails and dozen of phone calls, but in the end you don’t have anything concrete to show for.

Working without some music playing the background or any other sort of noise is not possible for me. Although I admit that I haven’t really tried working in a noise-free environment yet. Most of the time I listen to classical music while working on an illustration or lettering piece. There’s a decent radio station here in Germany, that you can also stream online. But the news interruptions and commercials quickly start to annoy me. Some time last year I discovered some great podcasts, that I can listen to while working. I haven’t looked back since. Not only are they pleasant to listen to, they also provide industry insights, useful tips and tricks and tons of advice for artists and business in general, Well, depending on what you want to listen to.

Here are my five favourite art and business related podcasts, that keep me company during my work hours. All of them are highly recommended.
